Christie Heyer
Administrative Manager

As Administrative Manager Christie keeps the Facing the Future office and programs running. She handles educator requests and inquiries, manages our curriculum ordering process and provides program support for the entire staff.

Before joining Facing the Future Christie worked for Aperian Global which offers intercultural training and consulting, as well as a variety of multi-media organizations where she did everything from facility management to high-end customer service. She worked in classrooms as an ESL teacher with Inca Life, a community development NGO and grade school in rural Peru. Christie has been a volunteer with a number of community groups focused on the environment, education and support for refugees, and she currently volunteers as a tutor with Literacy Source in Fremont.

Global Perspective
Christie attended an international high school in Stuttgart, Germany, and since then has spent as much time as possible studying and traveling in Europe, Asia and the Americas. She believes that opening young minds to think in a global context is essential.

Education
Christie has a BA in International Development Studies and English Cultural Studies from McGill University in Montreal. She speaks 3 languages and is TESOL/TEFL certified.
