Do you want to protect the environment? Would you like to educate yourself and others about energy conservation? Find out how to make your home and school energy efficient. By choosing one of the following three conservation activities, you will be well on your way to making a positive difference in the world!
1. Lifestyle Campaign: This is a school or community based project. Your group will conduct a pre-campaign audit and run a lifestyle campaign to educate people in your building about the need to conserve energy by turning off lights. Then you will perform another audit to evaluate your success. The project ends when you plan and conduct a party or event to celebrate your success.
2. School Energy Audit: This is a more in-depth audit in which you figure out the amount of energy and carbon dioxide saved. If you choose to do this audit, use it instead of, or in addition to, the audits from the Lifestyle Campaign. Run the rest of the campaign as instructed in the directions using this audit to gather more information.
3. Home Energy Audit: This is a stand-alone project with information on how to run home energy audits. It has forms for tallying, a letter to teachers, charts for measuring success and recognition certificates.
