Help the Poorest Families in the United States and Around the World towards Self-Sufficiency!
TrickleUp Program

www.trickleup.org

What can you do to ensure that poor children have enough to eat and can go to school? Or, that a family has a sturdy roof over their heads and medicine if they get sick?

You can make a difference for the world’s poorest people by raising money to provide the business training, seed capital, and support to help destitute, but determined men and women become self-reliant by starting their own small business or “microenterprise.”

Trickle Up provides basic business training and seed capital in the form of grants (usually US$100), to families or groups of three or more people. This allows Trickle Up to reach the world’s poorest people who are often overlooked by micro-credit programs because they do not qualify for loans or credit because of a lack of a track record in business, savings, collateral, a guarantor or even a regular address. These entrepreneurs gain a sense of empowerment and self-reliance – many for the first time in their lives!

Although $100 doesn’t seem like a lot, in poorer countries it goes a long way. With your help, families will have a chance to take a step out of poverty; feed and educate their children, pay for medicine, or even save money to expand their business.

When you sign up with Trickle Up, you will get an acknowledgement letter, a copy of business plans developed by a Trickle Up entrepreneur, the Trickle Up newsletter, a fact sheet on the impact your grant will make in people’s lives, and a brief report with information about entrepreneurs in the country your grant went to.
