Start
an Earth Service Corps Club!
YMCA of Greater Seattle
YMCA Earth Service Corps is a youth-led program that works to provide positive environmental and social change through service learning projects. Starting a YESC club or joining an existing YESC club in your school will help to increase awareness about environmental concerns in your community. Students form and lead the club and meetings, with the help of a willing school faculty member and resources given to you by YMCA. YMCA staff members will work to guide you through the initial steps of your club and help organize service learning projects outside of school. Clubs have recently initiated a recycling program in their school, and another has assessed community needs and worked one by one to meet them. Many local branches of YMCA operate throughout the state, and would love to help get your club off the ground. This is a challenging, highly effective project that can have a great impact on your school and community!
