Economy is generally thought of as the range of formal monetary transactions in a local, national, or international financial system. But as a global issue, economy must be considered in a much larger sense.
In this broad view, economy encompasses the livelihood, health, welfare, and happiness of human beings, and the ecological viability of the planet.
