Keynote and Plenary Speeches
Experienced Facing the Future staff are available to present keynote and plenary speeches at your next conference or event.
Facing the Future staff work on a fee-for-service basis providing customized workshops, inservices, and other consulting services for educators, schools, districts, and state departments of education interested in integrating global issues and sustainability across the curriculum. Experienced Facing the Future staff will work with you to collaboratively assess your needs and design an appropriate program. Past examples of our services include:
- Multi-day workshops or institutes on global sustainability and service
learning
- All-faculty keynote presentations on global sustainability education
- Collaboration on statewide global sustainability education plans and
resource guides
- Curriculum and scope and sequence development and advising
For educators who are unable to attend a workshop or who would like to learn at their own pace, Facing the Future offers online professional development on teaching about global issues and sustainability.
Facing the Future: Educating & Inspiring a Global Generation is an online, independent continuing education course available through The Heritage Institute. The course encourages educators to build upon their teaching expertise and think creatively about how to integrate global issues, sustainability, and local solutions into their curricula.
Appropriate for teachers of grades 5-12, participants may elect to receive 1 Quarter Credit from Antioch University Seattle, 10 Washington Clock Hours, 10 Oregon PDUs, or 1 CEU. The credit option requires completion of additional reading and written assignments. Learn more about this course and how to register.
