Destination Conservation is a practical, student-driven, activity-based program that brings environmental education alive in schools. A cooperative team of students, teachers, principals, custodians, and parents work together with Destination Conservation partners in this multi-year program. Destination Conservation helps students and staff protect the environment and promote sustainability by conserving water and energy and reducing waste while at the same time saving money! The program typically costs 2% of school district's utility budget and produces 6-7% in savings. When coupled with energy retrofits, 20-30% savings can be achieved.
