Geographic area: Washington State
Design, advertise, and implement a class-wide or school-wide food drive to benefit people living in poverty served by Northwest Harvest and its other 300 food banks and hot meal programs across the state. Your class can recruit students throughout your school to donate food. Advertise the date of the drive in your school newspaper or bulletin, set a goal for the amount of food to collect, and reach it! Northwest Harvest's program "Kids For Cans" offers classroom materials to aid you in your drive. Northwest Harvest is often able to pick up the collected food from your school – make the collection an organized event to show your school and community all the work you've done!
