Trickle Up
Help the poorest families in the United States and around the world towards self-sufficiency

Trickle Up provides basic business training and seed capital in the form of grants (usually US$100) to families or groups of three or more people. This allows Trickle Up to reach the world's poorest people, who are often overlooked by microcredit programs because they do not qualify for loans or credit because of a lack of a track record in business, savings, collateral, a guarantor, or even a regular address. These entrepreneurs gain a sense of empowerment and self-reliance – many for the first time in their lives!
Although $100 doesn’t seem like a lot, in poorer countries it goes a long way. With your help, families will have a chance to take a step out of poverty, feed and educate their children, pay for medicine, or even save money to expand their business.
When you sign up with Trickle Up, you get an acknowledgement letter, a copy of business plans developed by a Trickle Up entrepreneur, the Trickle Up newsletter, a fact sheet on the impact your grant will make in people's lives, and a brief report with information about entrepreneurs in the country your grant is going to.
