Adopt-a-Stream

Adopt a stream with your class or school!
www.streamkeeper.org

Age group: All ages
Geographic area: Washington State

Help to care for the nature and wildlife of your own watershed by adopting a local stream. By planting riparian vegetation near waterways you help cool waterways, which allows for more oxygen in the water, and helps promote fish health. Learn about the importance of sustaining our local, often overlooked natural ecosystems through this class commitment. The Northwest Stream Center will guide you through the 5-step process of adopting your stream, suggest texts and materials beneficial to the topic, and alert you to any related classes available through the Streamkeeper Academy. Check out their website for ideas and success stories about past stream adoptions.
