Way to Go, Seattle

Make your school car-smart!
www.cityofseattle.net/waytogo

Age group: Grades 5-12
Geographic area: Washington State

What does your school need to reduce the number of car commuters? Draw a map detailing public transportation and walk/bike routes in your area, or throw a party for the class that saves the most car emissions in a month. Begin a campaign around your school to educate fellow students, parents, teachers, and staff about the need for alternative forms of transportation.

Way to Go, Seattle's website provides forms to organize carpools, car-cost worksheets to see how much money would be saved with less use of an automobile, and stories of schools and organizations that have committed to becoming "car-smart."

For more information, email or call 206-615-1550.
